About

I have always had a passion for nature and the great outdoors. From a young age I spent most of my time searching the local countryside looking for wildlife. Slowly over the years my travels have taken me to more distant places and recently to some exotic locations such as: Guyana, Zambia, Nepal, India, and South America, to name but a few. The excitement of travelling to new locations has always been one of the main driving forces for me, however, I equally love visiting familiar local places that have gradually revealed their secrets over the different seasons and in the ever changing weather.

My professional photography career started after studying for a National Diploma in photography. Following this I secured a job as a staff photographer on a local daily newspaper. Then, 20 years later I decided to give it a go as a freelance photographer – which I do to this day. My main income is still from news, PR and marketing. I currently work with a business partner on a local news and photography agency Hull News & Pictures, which supplies images to local, national and international newspapers. I regularly submit photographs to a variety of picture libraries and have built up a large portfolio.

More recently, as my collection of wildlife images has increased, my nature pictures have been published in a variety of magazines including: BBC Wildlife, Countryfile, Country Life as well as regional Wildlife trust publications.

Hopefully with the right conditions and commitment I can provide a suitable environment for people to come along and photograph a variety of birds and animals.
